Split pea soup

I love that its simple and easy (most of the time), yummy and filled with nutritional value too! Yesterday I made this delicious split pea soup that I found here

I made one small adjustment... I actually added bacon bits (freshly fried) once the soup was ready as I did not have the ham. It gave it some texture and flavour too.
